  • Kudos to Porsche Canada

Smart move Porsche... smart move. You're definitely on my shopping list now.

Globd & Mail Article: Porsche cuts Canadian prices
Said Porsche Canada president Joe Lawrence in the statement announcing the changes. "No competitive brand has Canadian prices so closely aligned, across the board, to U.S. prices."

O.k., so maybe $17,500 or whatever still doesn't put me into a GT2 but heh... at least Porsche isn't blatantly ripping me off like all these "other" luxury brands. Thanks for sticking up for us Canucks Porsche... we appreciate it!

I wonder if pricing on options is as aligned as pricing on the base car...

Options make up a HUGE percentage of the price of a new Porsche. It's almost impossible not to add 10K to any Porsche MSRP for just the basics that you would expect the car to come with :(

Compared Option packages, wheels, paint, seats, etc. on the Canadian site in CAD vs the U.S. site in USD on a 911 Carrera. On average, the Canadian prices were only about 15% more (ie. Metallic paint in the US is $710USD, in Canada its $820CAD).

Pretty tight. Would definitely stop me from going south of the border to shop for one.

There were only 2,036 of them in 2010 so I guess they didn't piss off that many!

On somewhat of a side note... that Cayman R has got me taking many a second look these days. Me likey!

It's funny how much it looks like a Corvette.

They've been doing silent currency adjustments for the last 18 months anyway, so any previous P buyer won't be too angry. Now they're just advertising it.

If they can keep within 10-15% of US that will stop most people I think.

With Porsche, you can be sure to have great quality and service in exchange for the high price you pay for. It is not just a luxurious brand. It is all about value for your money. You get your mone;y worth for buying Porsche cars and porsche parts.
