  • Looking for a good exhaust/muffler shop...any rec's?

As the title states, need some very small exhaust modifications done to the allroad due to the new downpipes. Can someone recommend a good place to take it?

    TIA

What needs to be done guys? Welding stainless and exhausts is not a problem. Come see us at Calgary Autoworks.

Minute Muffler on 32nd ave N.E (1357 32nd Ave). It's run by a Beyond member. Countless excellent reviews, and overall great service by the owner and guys in the shop.

Calgary Muffler (Carline) are great and do fantastic work but they do not do stainless steel welding, not critical especially if it is just T-band or a O2 or wideband bung. If you need real nice stainless to stainless then Calgary Autoworks is the place to go.

Another 1-up for Carline on 33 st ne. charged me 20 bucks for a exhaust weld and they let me just walk in and have it done (:

Thanks guys I'll do some calling around tomorrow. Have stainless dp's that need to be shortened to match the stock exhaust on the allroad (they were meant for an S4). Should seriously take a competent shop 15 minutes...

i took my s4 the the minute muffler on 32nd a few years back to fix an exhaust leak and the guy got it on the lift looked at my downpipes and smiled..

or i'd recommend CAW from seeing the work they've done in the past on other peoples cars/reviews

If you are looking for a small job done well, I would recommend Jeff at Minute Muffler in Shawnessy or the guys at I beleive its either Calgary Muffler or Carline Muffler on 58th st SW by chinook.

If you need top quality work done, I recommend CAW. After seeing some of their projects, they are amazing. A bit on the more expensive side, but with any quality parts or projects, you gotta pay to play.

flogging a dead horse here, but I have used both Carline by Chinook and CAW.
Carline is amazing for affordability, and the guys are great. I've had numerous pieces made there and its always dirt cheap. That being said, they don't do stainless and the work is representative of what you pay for.
CAW on the other hand did my custom downpipe and exhaust on the Mk2 1.8T car, and it was a piece of art. Would HIGHLY recommend them if you want quality stainless work done.

A number of years ago I went to Carline and although they were really affordable, the welds weren't great didn't seem like they took much care measuring etc.... and yeah I felt like I paid for a quick job and I got a quick job. Still if that is what you need then they'll be good! Its actually hard to find somewhere to do those little jobs that just need a couple welds.

I guess everybody has different experiences. Rod at CM is one of the best exhaust guys i have come across. I have had Calgary Muffler (carline) weld on a Wideband Bung and when picked up the car they had not only welded the bung welded in they had run the wire back up under the hood, made the connection and zipped it all up with stainless steel ties. And they didn't charge me a thing. Another time Rod Welded on some exhaust tips on a Mopar of mine and they had everybody in the shop checking and re-setting the tips, remeasuring, re-tacking etc until they were absolutely perfect. Took them about an hour just to align them. I have always left there with a bill that is way smaller than I would have expected considering the level of service I have received.
