  • 20's on an RS4???

Have been getting the spring "itch" a little lately and was looking around at wheels for the RS4. The only problem is... every time I actually find something I like... it's almost always of the 20" variety instead of 19's like I have on her already to maintain that OEM look.

Anyhow, I suppose my question is this... what do you guys think about putting 20's on an RS4? Do it? Don't do it... you DONK!? Only do it if you lower the car... etc.

    20" Example

    OEM 19" Example

    Daddy's "Hooligan" - MK4 R32 in Deep Blue Pearl
Mommy's "Gran Turismo" - E70 X5M in Black Sapphire Metallic

That one on OEM 19s is lowered quite a bit from standard, which makes the wheels look even better.

I'm gonna say no on the 20's. I think your gonna have to lower the car a lot to make it look any good.

I think it would depend on the style of wheel you were looking at. If it was a style like the OEM ones, a cast/forged single piece wheel without any lips i would say that 19's are the biggest you could go without it looking off. However if you were to go with a Classic BBS LM style wheel with a lip (shallow or deep doesn't matter, as long as it's a liped rim) then you could probably go with a 20. The wheel faces are what draws the attention and makes the wheel itself look a bit smaller than it really is.
That being said choose an adequate tire profile no matter which size you go with, don't go with any rim size that you could only run a rubber band of a tire around.

I think 20's can look good but definitely needs the right height to pull it off.

Needs the right wheel too. God forbid, you go reps on a 20"

Yeah... I'm mostly agreed with you guys and thinking the 20's won't work unless I go with some new suspension goodies which unfortunately, isn't in the budget for this year. Doh! Hmmm... the half-baked plan was to go with some 3SDM rims on the car as shown below. Also, posting up a good side pic of my whip for reference. Honestly... I planned on getting an Ohlin's kit for her ages ago however... I just can't seem to break my DRC's. Going on 8 years now and those suckers still work like a charm.

PS. Agreed on the OEM RS4 rims. I've kept mine all these years and used them for winters since they're all haggered however... perhaps I'll invest the money into refinishing them instead?

Agree! OZ Wheels seems to be the wheel of choice lately, especially the Ultraleggera. Although the Ultraleggera HLT in 19" look pretty good too.

I can't find any wheels that aren't $6000 that I like. I'm not willing to spend that money on wheels that get dinged up as bad as they do. I had oz ultraleggras on my last car and they got wrecked for the roads here.

Plus I love the stock wheels the way they are. I'd rather get exhaust, and a new windshield. As I've been delaying them both for ever.

I'm gonna say 19's look best on our cars for summer set up. Somehow I feel it looks out of place when you throw 20's on the B7.

I think both can work, just depends on wheel and ride height of course!

Haha... you too! Let me know how much a new windshield costs. Mine has two massive cracks in it as well.

I suppose I'll hold on to my pennies as well and do some additional maintenance this year. I should really get a carbon clean and some new injectors this Spring anyways. Does TuneDub still do that sort of thing?
