    Re: Rs4...

Not sure who I bought it off of A dealership had it. The clear bra right now looks horrible, it’s coming off for sure. The car won’t be winter driven. Might just keep the golf for the winter until the wife picks what she wants.

The car was brought up from the states in 2008 srraight to Edmonton and had 2 owners in Edmonton.

White is the worse color for a clear bra. I had a white Cayenne for a year and it looked terrible.

If you decide to put new PPF on the RS4, I would definitely go with SunTek. That's what I have on my car and you can't even tell it's there after 2 years. Both of my parents cars are also white and 2 years old but have the 3M film on them, and it's a lot more noticeable on their cars. It's already starting to look yellow to me.

So you can see how bad the clearbra looks, does anyway have a good way of getting it off. The glue is very difficult to get off.

If you have a steamer then try to use that. It keeps the film from breaking apart into little pieces and prevents a tonne of residual glue!

I don’t have a steamer but I have a heat gun. I didn’t use a heat gun on the first piece and it was brutal. I used goo gone and it literally did nothing. I remembered that someone said gasoline worked so i tried that and it literally peeled off. Still took tons of effort. Next attempt will be heat gun and see where we are at. Car is looking good though.

Take it easy with heat. Especially heat and tools. I did some damage with a little heat and a plastic razor on my Passat that I'm still kicking myself for. It's a lot of work to get film of !

6speeds are very rare, and my ibis is 1 of 2 in its spec.

For the clear bra, be super careful with goo gone. If you are using a coloured cloth, the goo gone will take the pigment from the cloth and put it into your paint. Make sure to use a white cloth and automotive goo gone if using it. Don’t use regular goo gone.

Don't pull the film over itself, stretch it out over the panel. Have the panel nice and warm.

I think a combination of the heat gun and the gasoline will do the trick!

Congrats on the RS4, love the white. Even after buying my RS4, I still look on autotrader to see whats out there for shits and giggles. I saw this white one in edmonton as well, totally would've bought this if I was still looking. Where'd you order your oem rotors from?

                              Thanks for the tips guys.

Europaparts.com is where I got the brakes. Second time I’ll be using them for the exact same parts haha.
