Are those ecode or NA lights? And the red tails will look better when the rear end is all one color, but my personal favorite tail lights are the GTI OEM smoked ones.

                Re: My Ginster Mk3 Build

                Eventful weekend for me!

Saturday: Dad decided to buy this..

Then spent the day doing exhaust work.

Then i found some more rust on my car....

Played around with it for a bit.. didnt do much so i called it a day

Sunday: Went to the meet, came home and finished my raceland header and 2.5 inch straightpipe install.

Then, had a bit of a revving contest, and took the Cobra for its maiden voyage this season. Theres a weird vibration/rattle still, but ill get that sorted some other time.

Sadly this car wont be making it to CTH, but well be there in something...

I hate mk3 heat shield bolts. Car sounds crazy when pushing it!

                      Thanks Juul!

So, with the postponement of Close to Home... i now have a new deadline!
Time to kick myself in the ass and finish up my body work, rust repairs, wheels and get this b**** painted! Im hoping my parts from Juul arrive in time

One month to finish this thing up is pretty ambitious, but i think it can be done. Stay tuned folks, this is gonna be good

Good luck with the deadline! (No sarcasm) however don't rush the body work or you'll end up regretting it! It takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and seventeen hours to build a Toyota!

                            Re: My Ginster Mk3 Build

Got alot done this weekend (even if it doesnt seem like it)
Firstly, got my side skirts off.. didnt find much rust but apparently the PO didnt know how to jack

Im contemplating weather to get this fixed or not, the side skirts cover it (didnt know the damage was there for 7 years)
Also got my brakes blasted and a fresh coat of red put on them. Thanks to Terry/Tristan (Thor) for the rear brakes, i finally got the correct brake lines to run them, no more seized e-brakes for me!

Then i took apart the front end to look for some hidden rust. Nothing major at all, POR-15 on all the seams just in case. Sadly, the hatch was a little worse than i thought... paint was supposed to happen this weekend but im taking Hooddub's advice and delaying it to give me some time to decide what i want to do with my hatch situation. If i cant find a better one im thinking i may fix all the rust, and then mold the actual tub the the hatch. No more water leaks that way, im just concerned about the flexing causing cracks over time.. any input would be greatly appreciated!

And atlast, i finally located an old lip from a Volvo. Mounted that sucker up (thanks Jerry). I think it looks really aggressive, perfect for the look im trying to go for.

Dont be shy! tell me what you guys think. Paint is finalized to be next weekend, i am beyond excited.

Don't mold the tub to the trunk, the closing will cause flex and it will crack. Just a matter of when.

Hmm... thats what i figured as well... what if i use fiberglass instead of just bondo? ill have a talk with my paint/ body guy.

What do you think about that rocker panel? Anyone else have anything to chime in?
