Well, not even Chuck Norris himself could make eye contact with the clip above the stereo, but we now have piano black beltline trim!

I had plans for the coming weeks, but I've had to write a check to the American Taxman :(
Was really hoping to pickup some 18z brakes that popped up on Audizine, but the taxman swooped in on me.

                  May 21st @ 4.30PM

                  5.30PM

                  7.00PM

                  Such a clean engine, spotless.
Only trouble was one bolt on the driveshaft needed to be cut.

Having the ole man here helps big time, knows all the tricks of the trade.

Turbos are getting put together today, then maybe things start going back in tomorrow.

..aaaaaand SRM sent me the wrong flywheel, so everything grinds to a halt.
Hoping to get this sorted quickly.

Well, things were obviously going too well, given the fact that I had every detail planned out months in advance.

Got the turbos rebuilt with new CHRAs, injectors in and had begun the inlets when it became apparent that SRM had sent me the wrong LWFW.
Frustrating, as we'd have had the engine back in this morning otherwise.

You'd never have seen that the flywheel was incorrect until everything is together. I was sent the B7 compatible clutch version, rather than the B5 unit I had ordered.
The primary difference being 2mm in offset from the friction surface to the mounting face of the pressure plate.

I could throw the old dual mass back in, but I really wanted the TTV flywheel to go in as part of my "ideal" package.

Sean was very responsive, and is working on getting a replacement out to me. Hopefully there is a timely turnaround, otherwise I'm back to work and this will never get done.

                        Some random photos:

At least the flywheel issue allows some time to give the bay a really thorough clean

One of the K04s having been split

Such a dry engine, there are genuinely no leaks

                        K04s fitted

                        No photos, but also:
                        - wrapped the downpipes
                        - split & rebuilt the Stern Firm Mounts
                        - degreased the transmission

I'll get some photos of the K03s that came off of it, it is a must see. They are 100% perfect! Zero play/leaks and completely spotless.

Ended up in a position where I couldn't wait to resolve the flywheel issue with SRM, and ended up getting a B7 RS4 clutch here to keep things moving.

With that in, we managed to get the engine & box back on the mounts late last night.

Almost nothing worse than finding out you have the wrong parts - Looks great though.

                                She's close enough for now.

Mechanically it is all connected, just need to hop the drivers engine mount over one hole and wire it up.
Long weekend down here so we're off to the beach!
