    Re: A Gambler’s Thread – e30mclow’s Replacement S4

I don't know yet, I'm thinking it would be a shame to put the rs4 bumper on such an original car.

I'll swap the coilovers over and fit the Cupra lip that I have, then eventually take the stage 3 components and swap them over. Wheels down the line.

            ETA - 50 minutes!

Have to cycle a few miles to get it, as the truck won't fit in the neighborhood. I'm going to drink a shot of holy water and go

              TOUCHDOWN!

I've not driven it more than 20', or spent more than 2 minutes looking at it, but it is 100% as advertised.
Proof that buying a car is as much about trusting the owner as it is the car itself.

I cannot believe how blemish free the front end is, its beautiful! The underside still has all of the production barcodes on the parts (the little paper stickers), and is so so clean.
The engine has zero signs of anyone spending weeks in there rooting around, but I'm sure those weeks will come.

Can't wait to drive it tonight, even if it is just around the block.

                    Thanks Folks!

Mental disorder level cleaning is on the cards this weekend. I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks next weekend, then once I'm back I'll get my license/insurance/plates sorted.

Ordered up Iron-X, some Chemical Guys Suds & Wax, Rags, Foamer and I'm going to buy a simple pressure washer tonight at Lowes.

Can't wait to dig in and look over the documents and parts in the trunk.
It would almost be a shame to put coilovers/anything on it.

Keep it stock and go nuts on the Imola?

I don't know... It is hardly worth going nuts on the Imola.

I think what'll happen is the Imola will get stripped of anything worth keeping, and taken for scrap.

                                I see myself keeping:
                                Bumper
                                Hood
                                Front Fenders
                                Suspension
                                Engine & 01E (swap parts)
                                ECU & Loom
                                Cluster
All those little temperamental modules (ABS & Airbag)
                                Interior beltline trim
S4 door trims and sill plates

                                That is it really...
