I don’t own a touareg but why v8, is it just for the towing utility.
I love the old touareg and the v6’s are cheap. Are they any good??

I would prefer the V8 over V6 mainly for the towing, also I miss a good engine/exhaust sound

Have you considered a Cayenne S? They're abundant and cheap.

I have, I like 2008+ ones, they have a few issues though, but if carden shaft, coolant tubes, and a few other things are in good shape and there is no cylinder scoring they are solid

Cardan shaft issue is blown out of proportion, and vertex makes a cheap fix these days.

Coolant tubes are a non-issue on the 957s, most 955s have also had them done at this point. Easy to check.

Bumping this up for an answer Pat. Was originally leaning towards a grand cherokee but those prices are hard to beat. Still like your Cayenne? You've owned it for a long time so I'm assuming yes.

The EPS Replacement support has proven to be a reasonable option too.

Yep its been awesome. Other than regular maintenance the only things I've had to replace are the starter and an EVAP check valve. I won't hesitate to buy another when the time comes to upgrade.

Good to know. How do you find the power and 'fun to drive' factor in the 2005 S? I found a 06 S that looks to be in good shape with lower kms

Moves around pretty well. Next one will be a turbo for sure though. As far as handling and driving it doesn't feel like a big 5000lb SUV. Quite enjoyable to throw around when needed.
