That escalated quickly...... Would love to have a eurodrivers' spot, I'll see if I can find anyone who can contact with the organizer.
The roll in is just a way to show the others that us eurodrivers are like a big family....ish....

You can park your cars together. But they will not be judged for the show.

I wish I didnt have to "guard" my car either, but have been to a few too many shows where disrespectful people touch cars, sit on them, open the doors and try to sit inside, etc. Only takes one asshat to ruin it for everyone.

Didn't take it as an attack, but re-read my original post and saw how it could be interpretted as elitist. Figured I should explain myself

i get your points as hanging out with friends is great. i don't get the "guarding" your car thing but that's just me. didn't mean to come off as an attack on you, just mainly an observation i've made over time, that just seemed like the place for me to post. carry on...

Dan I think you took my post the wrong way. I did not mean to come off as elitist or not wanting to park next to random people. My reasoning for wanting to park next to friends is that car shows take up basically the whole day. I like to bring my lawn chair and set it up by my car, as most others do. Parking as a group allows a bunch of people to sit around their cars and just chill for a little while and chat with friends.

Not meant to be the "eurodrivers way", not meant to be elitist. As most of you know, I have no problem sparking up conversation with random people about cars. I just always felt its a little weird (in the perspective of the other random person) when there is a huge group of people sitting around right next to your car. Maybe its just me.

But if i'm bringing my BMW to the show and all my friends are bringing their VW's, it would be nice to not be on the other side of the park from all of them. I'm guessing this will be a much bigger show than prior years simply because we are joining with the classic show.

why does everything have to be a " eurodrivers way". it's not your show, do as they say. it's not like your cars or the way they set up their cars is going to take away from cars you can see there. humans are friends, not cars, so they wont care who they are parked next to. you guys tout about how friendly eurodrivers is; come to a meet and see, you say, but not wanting to park next to a stranger with the same car is stupid and elitist. its why i don't come to your meets and why i'd rather park next to some other strange e28 owners. that aside, i think the classic car guys are going to put on a way better show than cvd, provided they don't let cvd walk over them either. i wonder if i can enter my velosolex?

Pat, I was thinking about taking my E30 too. I might not end up getting everything done in time, but I could probably have it back together for the day.

For anyone interested in entering the European Classic Car Show, it sounds like we might have to do advance registration online. More info on their website: http://www.vsccc.ca/europe/eccm.htm

Same here. Seeing as I will have no show worthy VW's to enter, was going to enter the BMW, but again I dont want to park next to a bunch of random people I dont know. Perhaps we can talk to CVD and arrange to have a Eurodrivers section or something to keep our cars together and maybe represent the club a bit. Anyone on CVD that could mention this or have contacts with any of the executive CVD team?

Edit: or if anyone has any contacts with the organizers of the European car show...

    Saturday Das Volks Roll In

See how many people would like to join this, probably not a huge cruise since there's already one on Sunday. Just a little eurodrivers' cruise up elbow drive to Stanley park to show the crowd how much we love this club.. No haters please..

Meet up location: Safeway at elbow drive SW /4th street SW intersection. Decent size parking lot. 524 Elbow Dr SW, Calgary, AB T2S 2H6.

Date/meet up time: Saturday July 20th, 8:15AM. We will be leaving at 8:45AM exact.

Route: Cruise south down elbow drive, make a left turn at Lansdowne Ave SW, then make a slight left onto 42ave SW, and finally into Stanley park.
