Mine is a 12V, but like Mike said I guess I shouldnt be complaining cause VR's were never made for fuel economy

Mike...the VR's are not really known for their mileage. I'd say 500kms is good. The faulty O2 sensor will indeed decrease your mileage though. Since I chipped mine, I'm lucky to see 450kms per tank.

PD TDi's are excellent on fuel mileage. The numbers are higher on the Passats because they do have a bigger tank, but 1500kms per tank is about right. The new MK5 Clean TDi's get 1200kms for every 55L. Thats a milestone of savings over a period of time. I will be getting the new clean TDi for the wife after we get our house. Its 140HP with I think 236ft/lbs. It drives pretty quite too. VW did a great job revamping the TDi.

I've done 1247km (Calgary-> Kelowna-> Calgary) with no fuel light. Made it all the way home (deep SW) and the light hadn't come on yet. This was in my dads 00 TDI Jetta. My black Jetta was also on this trip and it only did 1169kms (this was with 19's....).

1200 is easily doable. I've done Calgary-> Saskatoon -> Calgary on a single tank many times.

Going to Vancouver this Friday in the 00 TDI, I know I'll make it there no problemo but I really want to try for a new record tank, I'm sure I can do over 1300 if I stick close to the speed limit (which I will most likely be doing....pretty much every BC trip we've done has involved a meeting with some form of law enforcement :( )

    TDIFTW.

I love these Passat wagons that you guys have. Very classy cars!

20km's in kelowna was used when taking the pictures, all other driving was done in my Dad's sweet ass minivan
1157km is the best i've run in my 01 TDI, and the fuel light wasn't on, so probably could have done another 100km at least. Its not that unreasonable.

with chip, and .205 injectors that are f'd up, and a thule box on the roof I don't get that... Last trip to BC i did a little over 900km.

    looks sweet
Yeah, I think I have seen you a couple times but I am never sure cause you have had so many different cars. I thought I saw you in the white passat a while ago. I was actually thinking of picking that one up.
