Absolutely Nissan says that the GT-R competes with the GT2 if they say it gets faster track times.

GT2 does not claim to be the fastest Porsche as the GT3 doubtless does better on some tracks.

So all I see is that the GTR out handles the GT2. The GT2 out drags the GTR.

both of these cars do not belong in the same category
the GT2 is suppose to be the fastest production porsche.

Another test of the GT-R vs Porsche GT2 and although the Porsche is of course way more expensive, the GT-R's claims of being better or faster are proven false by an experienced driver:
