I would avoid the "show home" stuff. It is ****. We bought a brand-new couch from "show home" via that kijiji thing. Meh, it just a cheaply made couch, but the price was not cheap.

also there is mcarthur fine furniture in airdrie and i think calgary.. its extremely baller stuff.. my god some of the beds we looked at were like 10k!!! wtf

its one of those leather couches you sit down in and you just sink into them and never want to get up. That's definelty what i want in a couch.

I am not sure if it comes in black but restoration hardware has a couch on their floor that is ridiculously comfortable. The seat cushions are very long so you flop back into it and definitely don’t want to get up. Not cheap but very very comfy. My wife keeps bugging me about it.

Nordesign has some really nice high quality furniture. Its also on the more expensive side.

If you are looking for a good deal try Furniture Villa in Vulcan (1 hour SE of Calgary). I used to live in Vulcan and bought a lot of stuff from them. I used to go to Lethbridge and Calgary looking for furniture and always came back to Furniture Villa. They are a medium sized store but they will order in anything you like and they will delivery to Calgary too. Gary Orr is the owner..talk to him for the best deals. I think because they are in a one horse town they pay very low rent etc compared to the city and it is a family business so there are no commission salesman trying to scam you. Worth the drive for sure.

i went to revolve, was not overly impressed. they were the top of the list when we started the day, but ended up not even making the short list. found a SIIIICK elite leather company sofa, love seat and ottoman for $3500 that i have fallen in love with.

its one of those leather couches you sit down in and you just sink into them and never want to get up. That's definelty what i want in a couch.

the chair i liked at revolve was nice, but they just didn't have the style i was looking for, that was comfy enough.

we'll have to see what i end up with, but right now i am couch shopped out. who thought sitting in chairs all day could be so tiring

There used to be a furniture place in the Deerfoot outlet mall that was super cheap, sub-ikea prices on basic stuff and they had leather couches and chairs that were pretty good.

Another idea is Revolve, maybe a bit more expensive but IMO they are the best furniture store in the city.

New Place on 11th Ave.. BoConcept. Quite nice stuff....

There are also a few 'wholesalers' on Kijiji that seem to have decent product.

go to the new balzac mall and check out.. revolve furniture and kiya

revolve is down by deerfoot meadows too.. furniture is expensive but worth it.. i think our one couch cost like 4800 alone..

but they do have sales so worth a look for sure

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new place, and with it will come new furniture as my hand-me-down couches and stuff have run their course.

Looking to get some black leather couches, a 2 seater and a 3 seater. I want a nice deep couch, one that you sink into and is super soft and comfy.

Having a hard time finding anything like that at the moment.
Anyone who's been shopping where having you been going?

I've looked at the big box brick, sears, ikea, kinda places. Looked at EQ3 and Nood today, wondering what else is out there.

Looking to spend around $4k or less.
