    Re: What car is this?

I would love to drive one of the new genesis coupes. I used to be one of those goons that hated hyundai just for the name and the bad stereotype caused by early hyundai models. But after working for a rental company for a year and getting to drive almost the whole hyundai line up I really like them. The accent and elantra are garbage but the Sonata and Tuscons are really nice to drive, actually as far as a DD I would prefer a sonata over my Mk4. Who knows if the current trend in VW built quality continues I wouldn't doubt in 10years Hyundai will have surpassed VW in quality.

To the OP the badge that threw you off is this one I believe, it is called the wing badge and I believe was on Korean Genesis', I did the same double take when I saw that badge from a far distance, I knew what the genesis looked like just thought it was some bozo putting a corvette emblem on it or something

I know that this wasn't directed towards me, but the V6 Camero actually out braked the 6 banger trac pack with the Brembos. The Camero had all season tires and regular single piston calipers. The Mustang V8 is in its class and kills the 3.8L V6 Genesis. In its class as price goes anyhow.

As for head room in the back seat, you don't have to worry about it. The back seats are just for show. You don't buy a rear wheel drive coupe for the back seat space. Its just a given that the space for the back seats are nil to none.

From what I've read, performance is competitive in it's class and inexpensive in it's class, but not top of it's class.

First you say "I hate", then "didn't fall in love"... There is a long way between those two statements.

I don't love it either. But it is a good car for the price point and saying you hate it is a bit over the top.

What do you hate about it?
holy fuk sorrrrritoo that I said "hate", i didn't know you're so sensitive
In the end....hyundai is not a car I would purchase, respect to them for making better cars then they used to. end of story

Yes I have driven a Genesis and I simply didn't fall in love with it nor do I like the body styling.

Well there are not a lot of cars in it's class. The closest thing is comparing the V6 Genesis coupe to the V6 Mustang and Camaro, but they Nissan 240sx has been discontinued for a long time and that was the closest recent car to the 4 banger Genesis that I remember.

    Re: What car is this?

I was going to get one back in July, but couldn't afford the monthly payment at the time. I was lined up and stoked to get the 2.0T with the "Trac Pac". The only thing I could complain about was the extreme "Rev hang" it had when shifting to a higher gear. There was also some tranny bushing issues that caused it to grind in certain gears. But there was a re-flash program to eliminate the rev hang and Hyundai were replacing 6-speed Transmissions as part ofa Technical Bullentin if the car you purchased was grinding gears.
It felt a little slower then I was expecting too. Stock HP is 210 but felt more like 170hp. I'm sure there will be lots of tuning available for these diamonds in the rough. I think I heard of one pushing close to 450hp with medium difficulty upgrades.
A lot of the Hyundai models in the past seem to mimic other brands and models, but what I like about the looks of this one is that they copied no else's design cues. And its completely different from any other vehicels on the road. I never thought I would be so close to buying a Hyundai, but they have come so far in the past 5 years. I can't wait to see the 2011 models with mildly different styling cues and more power. Should be interesting.

The Genesis is a great car, the one we have is a 2L turbo and makes 230hp and 91 oct, 210 on reg gas. It came with a brembo bbk factory, 19s, a 3.92 ratio LSD, infinity 10 speaker stereo, Bluetooth and everything else one would want. The only thing it doesn't have is nav. The motor is the same as the turbo in the mitsubishi ralliart. For the money it is an awesome. There are much better cars out there but feature for feature and value for money few can come close in the midsize coupe range.
