    Re: Seafoam...

ricer additive. creates a lot of smoke. temporary removes oil lubrication.

you're better off changing your oil than running that shizybutt carp

also, its bad for older cars. as the engine runs over years, the gaskets (mostly oil pan and main seals) wear. but when oil gets hot and mixes with outside air & dirt, it hardens and makes a little seal. that's why most small oil leaks "fix themselves". you run something like seafoam in there, and you'll quickly find out about all of those hidden leaks :P .. plus you'll start burning oil.

i think it's best that people understand that a motor is made of hard metal. it is pretty much binary WORKS or BROKEN. there is no in-between . when something is wrong, it needs to be fixed. it can't go away with "Additives". mechanical parts made of metal don't fix themselves.

avoid additives (including injector cleaner lol). you are better off changing your fuel filter, cleaning your maf, getting a new air filter, and running gas from newer gas stations. newer gas stations have cleaner tanks (Even though they have filters) but i still trust newer tanks

i'm probably wasting time by typing all this.... seafoam looks like godsent due to the 99.9% of the automotive world being ricers. the 0.1% of ppl like me, with reliable high hp cars avoid forums where ppl talk about seafoam, hid's, and stereos. edit: and intake/exhausts/chips

    started a topic Seafoam...

    Seafoam...

I was in the auto store today and was just going to pick up a bottle of injector cleaner for the hell to clean out the engine a little bit. buddy comes over and shows me this stuff called seafoam, never heard of it so i listened and looked it up on the internet. getting mixed results on the stuff. looks like its really good stuff but have others saying that it also can damage the engine.

anyone ever tried the stuff or have a buddy that did?
wanna try it out for myself but would like to have some more info.

    Thanks
Working...
