If you wanted to do a little bit more driving, Radium. (This could also incorporate the ice cream/1A.)

To Radium you go!

Or, Drumheller, go for a hike around the hoodoos.

If you want to go on a driver around there is the Dinosaur Trail

Directions around the Dinosaur Trail Not recommended for Really low cars, you cross a ferry and its pretty steep to get on and off.

Cochrane for ice cream at Mackays.

Then head out on the 1A to Lake Louise, the 1A after Banff is great watch for wildlife!

For those who haven't been there Elbow Falls is pretty cool.

I can't figure out how to copy a google map here. But its a pretty straight forward drive. Actually kind fun when you get more west.

I thought it may be useful to have a thread listing day trips or places members have been and could go in their rides. It would be pretty cool to wake up and say what the hell should I do today, open the thread and pick a cool place to cruise to.

Please post directions from Calgary to what ever destination you have been.
Pictures would be killer too.

I have yet to do a day trip but this year I plan to do many with the help of this thread.
