Re: What will Audi have to say.
our house lucked out from that storm.. the AR got hit but nothing like that and others in town.. i'd say the AR has probably 15-20 dents total but enough insurance is looking at it tomorrow and they'll be fixing it or paying me nicely

Re: What will Audi have to say.
Hardie Board also reduces your insurance rates because it's flame retardant (due to being made of fibre/concrete). Vinyl siding burns quite nice... I used to sell a ton of Hardie!Originally posted by Ur0Drivr View PostSaw friend's cars and house after that hail storm. It wasn't pretty. Vinyl siding sucks. Go for Hardie Board

Big hail storm in Balzac during work hours. Driving home same day hit a skunk on Stony. Fantastic day all in all.

I believe they are built in the same plant.Originally posted by MechEngg View PostMy dad's Scion FR-S (same in theory as the BRZ but not sure if paint is that much different) is completely fine minus the hail and skunk damage. Then again he doesn't drive it in the winters

Skunk damage?

Re: What will Audi have to say.
From what I was told european cars tend to have triple clearcoat to give them that "glass" look.Originally posted by JVD View PostI've owned two Subarus.
Clear coat on both were definitely on the soft side. First year in Calg + Deerfoot to/from work everyday and the front of my wagon was obliterated.
From my experience most German cars have harder paint. My S4 has quite hard clear where OEM still exists. The repainted areas are also quite hard.
Generally speaking repaints should have more clear coat. Not sure how hardness differs in systems...
I do remember when buying paint supplies from a certain supplier they offered a standard clear and a "Euro Clear."

Re: What will Audi have to say.
If you could get one repainted with a solvent based clearcoat, or at least a few layers of clearcoat they should be durable. My buddy has a 2013 BRZ and the front end looks like it's been sandblasted around the 3M.

I know some BRZ are already showing signs of wear after one winter.Originally posted by MechEngg View Post
Anyways thanks for bringing up the Subaru paint issues, never was aware of their crappy paint until this thread. Typically i thought the OEM painting process was far far superior than any aftermarket re-spraying, how does Subaru's paint hold up against say a good aftermarket paint job? Are a lot of Subaru owners fixing shitty OEM paint within the first few years or is it say 15 years down the road?

Full coverage as of yesterday. Switched to Meloche Monnix.Originally posted by flipstah View PostStay on topic, please. Life's already hard running basic coverage on a C63.
As for Audi, they don't have to answer to anything because I don't believe 'S4' is trademarked. Samsung stole it first lol.
Also, Subaru paint in general has always sucked.
