Re: Vancouver wind storm
Good to have a neighbor like you. Although best to be prepared too. It's surprising how many homes aren't for outages. I'd like to think I am but can probably to better on the water area. The family I'm am visiting has only one light and small birthday candles. Luckily I had a few lights with me even when traveling.

Re: Vancouver wind storm
Yeah it was nuts, you can see trees everywhere with trunks thick as a dinner plate with their tops just torn off of broken in half.
We actually lost power from Saturday morning till Monday morning. Luckily I was prepared with emergency water, food flashlights, candles etc. But many of our neighbours weren't. I ended up handing out spare flashlights and candles to those who had nothing.Last edited by witchcraftz; 09-04-2015, 09:09 AM.

Re: Vancouver wind storm
My cabin had wicked wind like that all weekend as well (near lethbridge), trees were at 45 degree angles, but not as much stuff blowing around since it's out in the middle of the prairies

Re: Vancouver wind storm
A huge tree fell down by my car which was about 20m away and those potenza RE11s are definitely doing their work ahah! My place at UBC lost power for three days.. Spinning 4th gear was not fun on the worst storm day

Re: Vancouver wind storm
Pretty powerful. I'm currently staying in North Van with family and they lost power for over a day. No trees fell in their neighborhood. More unfortunate for others. I was in downtown during most of it so didn't even know. I hope that it was also minor on your end?
