If you are going to fix it yourself, don't buy a coilpack as that's for the VR6!

Just buy 1 or 2 ignition coils and swap them out one by one. They should be around 30 dollars each.

Yeah sounds like coilpacks. One of "those things" with the 1.8T.

Im driving a 2001 Passat 1.8T right now as my car isn't quite finished

But on the way to school today, the check engine light started to flash, acceleration and idle became quite choppy all of a sudden. There was some smoke coming from the exhaust.

Besides the the flashing CEL, this is what my car did when my turbo **** the bed...

Could it be anything other than the turbo thats causing these problems? Im kind of clueless when it comes to 1.8Ts
