Funny I had to do something similar when I went to fix my door lock. Let me know if you find a suitable bolt.

If you don't want an oem bolt go here. http://calgaryfasteners.ca/ might be cheaper.

It wasn't the clips that ruined your window - it was you putting the carrier back in. Ask me how I know (both my windows have a little scratch on the tint, even on the one that I discovered already had the new clips AFTER I took it out.) It's tricky to get the damn door lock piece back under the door without touching the inside of the window - it should be in the dang walk through. :(

    Thanks Mike

Just finished installing the repair kit and everything works normal again but is there anything that I can do about my tint being ruined on the driver's window There's scratches all over the place from where the window rubbed against the inside of the carrier panel.

Really, how can this not be a recall by now? Lucky that mine were replaced under warranty.

You should send an angry letter to vw.

I bought the repair kit needed, but my only problem is that one of the screws holding in the door lock module is stripped and so the 8mm triple square tool isn't able to grab anything. Any tips on getting out stripped screws

George at TuneDub may be able to get it done for less than a dealership.

you know I'd be in your shop the next day to Richard! haha...

Does anybody know if the Calgary dealerships have the repair kit in stock? I might just pick it up myself.
