Re: MK VI GTI Pictures Leaked
Official pics up already!!!
Following the leaked images from earlier today, VW has released 16 fresh images and first details of the GTI Concept which debuts next week in Paris. Building on what was previous stated, the GTI Concept receives Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC). The ACC aids the already stiffened sport suspension with electronically controlled pneumatic dampeners which have three ride level settings ranging from ‘comfort’ to ‘normal’ and ‘sport’. Depending on the ACC setting and driving conditions, the ACC system also remaps the steering and throttle response for enhanced body control. Also, the new GTI concept features for the first time an electronic limited slip differential (XDS) which is linked to ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme).
The GTI concept is powered by the 2.0-litre four cylinder TSI engine currently seen in the Scirocco producing 210 PS (207hp) – 10 PS more than the Mk V GTI. Despite the increase in power the new engine is still more efficient with 37.6 mpg (combined cycle) while emitting 178 g/km of CO2 compared to 189 g/km for the Mk V GTI. 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 7.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 148 mph making it the fastest standard production GTI yet.
Finished in typical GTI interior traits, it receives a flat-bottomed lack leather steering wheel finished with red stitching and the sports seats sport the traditional grey tartan cloth reminiscent of the Mk I and Mk V models.
The Golf GTI starts production in spring 2009.

MK VI GTI Pictures Leaked
Today the first images of the Volkswagen Golf GTI MkVI have found their way to the net ahead of the model's planned unveiling at the Paris Motor Show next week. The model isn't due to be released on the market until Spring 2009, so we expect the show car to carry a concept label, but little will change once the model hits the production line.
Strong styling inspiration comes from the GTI W12 650 Concept starting with its wide reaching center grille. The front bumper features a one piece air intake and a set of fog lights that are so wide on the bumper they are almost on the fender panels, but do a great job of inducing a widebody appearance. The rear gets a twin exhaust set up housed around the diffuser whilst the popular GTI wheels from the MkV are retained for the new generation.
Technically the new GTI hasn't changed much, possibly to stop the model from stepping on the toes of the new Scirocco, the engine gets a power boost of 10bhp taking total output to 207bhp whilst emissions are down by 11g/km. The improved figures were achieved with a new induction system and for the first time on a GTI, Volkswagen have introduced its new electronic limited-slip differential which they call XDS.
