Let me get this straight. You're under warranty but you're trying to fix it yourself? Let me warn you (again). I took mine in when I thought the sunroof was sliding a little rough and it turned in to over $2000 covered under warranty.
You say your warranty is up soon, so I'd make plans to get in from Banff ASAP.

did you try the key trick?
Take key out of ignition get out of the car and manually lock your car and hold the key in the lock position...

If you have it closed, resting in the correct position, with the key off, swap out with a buddies known good one, then try, seen switch problems many times, just came to mind after last post. good luck.

South Center I dont think is booking that far out? Does the sliding headliner part move freely? sometimes the guides break and cause all kinds of headaches in the tracks.

press and hold as in push it in toward the roof of the car? and hold. Interesting gem of info there . Thanks

But get it thoroughly checked out BEFORE your warranty expires. They are very expensive to fix at the dealer. I know, I've been there -- thankfully under warranty.

close it manually, key off, place knob in closed position, turn ign on, then move to vent, then close, then open. in a warm place might be a good idea
