I'll look into those wheels, I'd be a bit worried of going through the paint though.

If you can get the bulk of it off with a razor blade you could try an eraser wheel to get the rest off. I use these all the time on old decals and adhesive strips and they work great and don't damage the paint. They even work in household drills.

I picked up the silicone remover from Home depot but it's not working. Looks like I'm going to have to use a razor blade, a steady hand and some luck to not damage the paint.

Good call Stefan, last time I was at princess auto I got these:
    http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/H...-Set/8306813.p

@Red I'm having issues because they are 3" long, it won't fit between the bolt and the door frame.

They didn't have the stubby sockets at princess auto when I bought these bits, I'll go pick those sockets up today too.

When you don't have room, you take the bit and use a wrench on it.

    Re: Removing RTV?

Goo Gone was not a success. I went to a nearby Home Depot yesterday end but the clerk said they didn't have it. I'll try a bigger HD today.

I didn't want to start another thread so another question: I am trying to remove the front door and there is one 12 point/triple square bolt that has such small clearance I can't get my current socket to fit. I checked all the usual palces (CT, HD, Rona, Lowes, LeeValley) but no one has them. Where did you guys buy a stubby M8 12 point bit?

Actually the silicone remover that I have used does not damage paint or plastic.

There has to be something that comes in a bigger bottle?

The silicone remover I bought at Rona a few years back was in 1 liter bottles.
