Delays for sure. Sounds like several US bound R's went down on that ship that sank and now Wolfsburg plant is on a two week shutdown due to supply issues resulting from war in Ukraine. My R is not...
I don't have a good number on the Alltrack. Not a lot of highway miles as of late.
The ol' Passat said 5.5L/100km after a trip to Invermere last weekend. :)
Curious to see what you find!
We zipped out Spray Lakes way several times and the car just gets pummeled underneath. I had protection in mind first, but will be happy if I get mileage too!
Economy, no, but really have not driven enough to make a call on that. Both wife and I figure it is a bit quieter though. Less turbulence SHOULD imply a mileage gain.
The web link above has...
Nice pics, Blair. Some nice cars there for sure!
I was just commenting to my wife on how rare a clean mk4 is these days. Nice!
Most of my info comes form HERE
There are two options on these control arm covers. Both are shown here, from golfdave on golfmk7.com:...
For sale. I ordered these by mistake. Brand new, never installed. You will need some fasteners, that are pretty easy to come by. This is an OEM product that was not available as an option in NA. ...
Yup, I'm excited.
Little geeky but I enjoyed this explanation of the new drive train.

Looks great. The tuning is interesting. Not something I have ever done, but thought it would be cool to learn more about.
I have been chatting with a guy in Airdrie building a replica Ferrari...
I'm going to try this retrofit on the Alltrack:

Oh for sure keeping the Alltrack. That's currently what the wife drives, and what we take out of town. Hell, us, the kids, and the dogs all spent the night in it, stuck in Kootenay park a few weeks...
I expect the Passat will be around for a while. I don't think it would be worth much, and my kids are not that far from driving.
There was some news from VW on new chipsets on the R infotainment,...
Thanks for checking that out. I do think the ALH had different parameters for start conditions. I did come across some info in that while searching for problems.
Well, ordered a Lapiz, manual R yesterday. Must be some sort of mid life issue... I dunno.
Anyways, we suspect a spring build and summer delivery.
Good times!
Hmm - was not aware there was a firmware side fix there?? Mine is old. I mean, I had it refreshed for the Manual transmission recently but not sure they would have redone the whole tune or just...
Got the started replaced and RPM on crank is looking better. So far, so good. Hopefully that was it.
Going to be time to find a new ride soon, I think!
The splitter next to that curb rash make me worry for the splitter! hahah.
Looks great.
Timing I have actually checked. And then I grabbed a cam sensor at Pick n pull, and re-checked after that. I think I'm ok in that department.
I have an EGR sitting here, if your that ends up...
Seems like a nice set of winter rims for someone!
more info:
I had a look at the hot start maps in a manual trans file for a BPW and an AWX and they do cut fuel until 250rpm above 70ēC. I'd look up the BHW specifically but the hard disk on my...
Thanks for help today, Colin.
I'm going to try to find out more about this crank RPM requirement. I have another comment from the TDI club guys:
"The PD does have a fueling cutoff on hot...
ECU was opened up when I did the transmission swap a few years back. Not since. I was thinking I would check it though and make sure it is all clean and well seated.
Its been an intermittent...
Fuel filter is new. Replaced pretty recently. The thermostatic T on the filter is also new since this issue (may actually have been your suggestion some time last year, Colin. I seem to remember...
Not out of the question. It looks good on vag-com, but as the problem is intermittent, I could just not be hooked up when it screws up.
But also, this only happens when the engine is still...
Not sure people actually post new stuff here anymore? :)
I have this on TDIclub. I'll throw it here for fun too.
Hi all,
I know there are a ton of threads on this. I have read a ton of...
nothing in my inbox. :(
Sure, I'll sign up
Just seemed like a very cool individual. I was sad to see this news too.
Really nice. Looking really good!
Automatic scale/reduce is the way to go. I have hosted everything I post from my Google drive but it is a little tedious.
Yeah, the manual just said it should be a setting on the dash and is was bugging me that it wasn't there. I wish I could retrofit memory seats to tie in to it, but too much effort.
I was eying up...
HVAC, radio, drive assist, drive mode, car settings like ambient lighting...etc. It does not have any control over seats or mirrors.
The other one I'm trying to sort out is having it change...
Finally got the car to greet me properly... The owners manual seemed to suggest this was supposed to be there by default, but is was not. I can now switch users on the steering wheel at start. ...
The above kit finally made it it. It was probably a half hour install to add the rear left euro fog option. Pretty easy peasy!
Euro rear fog light kit on route!

I didn't think I knew what Boglins were, but for sure I remember now that I see what they are!
I put my name in lottery.
Found some centre caps. They are not perfect, but pretty damn close. Good enough for winter wheels!
