Default Floor Pan Swap - haldex to come...

A while back I bought a donor TT for an eventual Haldex swap... was planning to build a garage first but one thing led to another & I've ended up with a stripped down shell in my yard... just kind of sitting there... Late fall is a good time to start a project like this outside right

    Couple shots of the TT...

    DAY ONE

Got my GLI set up and pulled the back bumper off along with the fender liners, springs, dampers, brakes and beam...

    DAY TWO

Pulled the exhaust, heat shields, unclipped fuel & brake lines, removed the gas tank, etc...

    DAY THREE

Got the seam sealer off the outside of both wheel wells along the frame rail / wheel well joint...

Heat gun on my knee while slowly prying the skirts off with a chisel & free hand worked really well...

Got most of the seam sealer out in the trunk area as well - pretty tedious but I'm trying to keep the GLI pan in good health so parts of it can be used to extend the TT pan...

    DAY FOUR

Didn't get a lot done tonight but scraped some more seam sealer off and drilled spot-welds until my battery died...

Need the seat brackets from the GLI as the back seat in the TT is different...

Cool - thanks. This is my only car so I plan to keep a pretty steady pace but definitely don't want to rush it and just slap things together either...

Nice work. I would likely keep my GLI forever if it had AWD.
