The RS4 V6 and the C5 RS6 V8 engines were both developed by Cosworth in the UK.

When someone considers buying a car like the RS4, or even an RS2 , they aren't thinking "am I getting the best bang for my buck?". These cars are at least 15 years old so of course there are cars that will have more power or be better handling based on the technology that has improved over the years.

These people are buying an automotive icon. They are buying a piece of automotive history and they are making an investment. These audi's are increasing in value which is pretty hard to find in most cars. My RS2 is worth more than what I paid for it including all the money I've put into it.

I would not be buying one of these as my daily driver though but for sure they are meant to be driven, not stored in a climate controlled garage under a cover. By all means my S5 is a better car than the RS2, it handles better, it is faster, it sounds better, it is more comfortable to drive but it doesn't give me the same amount of pleasure that the RS2 gives.

It is definitely not for everyone and I would not buy one as my only car but after that initial purchase price it sure feels good knowing the car will not cost you anything over the years due to the appreciation. These Audi's do not need to be modded so it will actually be cheaper to own than most vehicles when you factor in depreciation, mods, etc.

That's my 2 cents.

The Rs4 is a monster of a car...for how old it is and it still makes 380hp. That's damn good. It's an amazing car and the style imho is better the most modern cars. It's worth the asking price I think...rather have this car then a newer car worth the the same.

As dave said.. You buy this car cause you want a B5 RS4...not cause you want a fast daily driver. Same reason I have a C4 S4...i could get a newer car that's lighter and faster for cheaper....hell I could get back into a B5S4..but it will never give me the same feeling behind the wheel as my C4 S4.

And dave...how dare you say your S5 sounds better the your RS2... really? Lol.

Good luck OP with sale...someone is getting a amazing car for sure...too bad it's not me.

I'm sure I'll retract my statement once the Supersprint turbo back exhaust is installed in the next few weeks!

The stock muffler is just a bit too subdued for my liking at the moment.
