          My understanding with apple care is it can be purchased anytime within a year of the original purchase, and it is transferable. Should be no problem for someone to get it if it doesnt have it already.

              At the Apple store i as told i must get it at the time when purchasing a new mac book....
              But Website is saying something different.... You can purchase the extended warranty with in one year of the original purchase date...
