Isn't it a little far from your place for a casual breakfast?

I was meeting people at ikea for a cruise to Banff. I just got there early so I went and had breakfast.

One is marrying the owner of Alpha Autoworks (the white/carbon fibre M5), the other is with the Subaru guy.

The guy with the I ///M fan shirt is Miguel from ECUProgram.

Oh I saw a c63 drive by us out of Starbucks or Mcdonalds - Sounds amazing if it was you. How do you make an automatic rev constantly like that? Do you have to put the autobox in to neutral or does it just do it itself?

That was me yes. I drive in manual mode, so I often don't leave 1st gear in parking lots. It does full transmission lockup as soon as the car starts rolling.

If you saw my plate, it's a dead giveaway

I hope it sounds better than described. I would imagine it to be terribly annoying.

I can't remember if the c63 does it but I know that the older M5s have a weird gearbox that kinda lags with the intention of making it possible to rev it up and roll back and stuff. Makes it look like you're driving a stick. Unless the m5 I drove just had a fucked up transmission lol

The M5 is a auto manual (SMG III - sequential manual gearbox). It has a single clutch automated gearbox. So it acts like a manual because it's deciding when to operate the clutch for optimal grip/minimal wear. Any automanual bmw will do that. They will also roll backwards on inclines. The C63 is a 7 speed slush box, complete with torque converter (2012+ use a wet starter clutch instead), but in S, S+ or M mode it will do full lockup on every gear (including both reverse gears) after it begins rolling, using the torque converter as a fluid couple clutch instead of a physical one to absorb starting torque.

I definitely passed you guys. I drove right past Jason and he talked to me haha.

Square pipes are only seen on high class AMG cars and the brand new not released yet W205 C63. Though I think meisterschaft makes a square exhaust option.

Sounds like the coasting rev down in a manual car. It doesn't constantly hold a rev, it just doesn't slip back to idle like most torque converter automatics.
