i really don't know how audi is going to sell this car.

this car should be direct competitor for BMW M3 and MB C62 AMG.
C63 starts at $63500 (451hp) and M3 starts at $69900 (414hp).
i really don't think a potential buyer will consider fuel economy on these kind of cars. we are talking about 100hp less yet more expensive. Granted, hp is not everything about the car, but if I am looking to buy one, S4 is out from very beginning.

It has been said S4 no longer competes with the M3 and C63 the RS4 does that and this competes with 335s and the like. The biggest thing will be if the price point comes down at all, but Audi seems to have no problem selling RS4s at 90k+ so maybe they don't care.

Higher priced cars become status symbols and fashion accessories so price must matter less?! I don't get it.

But based purely on looks, the S4 wins. This gen, the last gen and the B6 (8E). If price were not an issue, I'd take it over the M-B C350 and the IS350. But, I'm a working stiff so price is an issue for me....oddly enough, I'm actually going to type that the Lexus IS350 is a bargain. (shudder)

And for the record, a small displacement NA engine will typically use less fuel than a FI one. The Euro models typically add FI to boost performance in the higher end trims of model lines. More air forcefed = more fuel required = more power but not in a linear relationship, obviously).

WRONG. FI engines get better fuel economy than non-FI.

More air forcefed = denser air molecules in the air = higher O2 content = more complete combustion of gasoline = more power per unit of fuel.
