Curious what anyone here thought of the following ride and/or knew regarding the older "M" models. I'm not really a huge fan of the newer M Coupe... but this one definitely turns my crank.

That's one of Kulu's cars. Has had it for a while so there's likely some wiggle room there in the price.

Would be a really fun car! Talk to Colin on the boards here - he's got one. Can't remember his username, though...

Haha... yep... clown shoe car... Love it! Although I agree with you too... a sweet '2002' would be killer as well.

And yes, it is a Kulu car. I've downloaded the pics again so hopefully they come up on the site. It's a nice car... but whenever I read up on it... I read things like "connecting rod bearing failure" and "bearing shell failures".

i've had the pleasure of driving a "clown shoe" on a track day. VERY fun car. if i didn't need 4 doors (or atleast a back seat), i'd strongly consider one. that, and resale isn't great (not exactly on the practical side),.. so finding a bargain is quite likely.

I bought a 2001 Mcoupe in November of 2007, with 50k miles on it. It's a fun car to drive, and you feel very connected to the road.

Although I love the car, it's only driven four or five months of the year as it is BRUTAL in the snow. It also has some typical BMW issues that go beyond the subframe such as electrical frustrations, but those are usually minor and fixable.

I'm working on updating some interior parts right now, and if you're seriously looking at getting one there are some suggested modifications done to the suspension that help prevent the subframe problems (IE Subframe Bushings).
