  • b5 s4:possible rear tire rubbing on control arm, anyone face this problem?

hey guys, just noticed when i threw some new rubber on the rears of my b5 s4 that the one arm that comes from behind the wheel and up/around the tire is very close to rubbing on the tire. i have 18x8 b6 s4 wheels on the car with a 235 40 r18 in the rear. the car currently has i believe a 5mm spacer on the rear, just wondering if if will rub or if i should go with a 10-15mm spacer or if i dont need to worry about it at all.

also wondering if anyone else has had this problem. there isnt much clearance, maybe 3mm or so between the arm and the tire

dont hear or feel it rubbing, i just dont want it to hit when im cornering hard or anything, or if im hitting bumps i dont know if it will be closer or further away lol

Hey Ben, didn't you have 225/40 before? If so now your running 235/40 so your profile is more square then stretched so it may look closer than before.

Im currently running 235/35/19's, and had 235/40/18's on my last wheels without problems.. I would say you are fine unless you hear something. B6 S4 offets are fine..

ya i think its ok, it has rubbed just a little bit but i might get some 10mm spacers just to see if i get some more clearance

You shouldn't be having any issues especially if you already have a spacer on there, you should have your alignment checked.
