  • Big Break Kit for E36 M3

Any suggestions as to which is the best BBK for the E36 M3??

I have been looking at Stop Tech and Ksport kits.

    Also possibly Brembo or Rotora??

I really would like to do 15" (380mm) rotors front and rear. I do have big enough rims to fit them.

Why does everyone spell "brake" wrong?

Tough to go wrong with Stoptech.....
You have to figure out size though as well. What size are your wheels? DO you have different winter wheels? etc.

Wilwood is also a slightly lower cost alternative. 15" in the rear would be really excessive. Keep in mind you'll have to find calipers that retain your ebrake too

Another option you can look into is Massive Brakes. I know a number of people that have Lee's BBKs on their 2002s and e30s, and they are all very happy with quality and performance. Lee did a lot of research before he started producing the kits, and would be happy to answer any questions you have. Also, he is in Quebec, so no duty etc.

I don't know anything about the e36 kits, or how the cost compares to the others mentioned, but it gives you another option to investigate.

                        Good luck!

Re: Big Break Kit for E36 M3

I would recommend the StopTech or Brembo over the Wilwood/UUC kit. Stoptech and Brembo we have put on numerous E36 M3's with no fitment issues at all, Wilwood/UUC (even though they seem to love racing them on the track and claim no fitment issues) have been not so good, may save some coin on the kit but install will likely bring it back up to Stoptech pricing or bring your blood pressure up if your doing it yourself

Re: Big Break Kit for E36 M3

I have 19" wheels, and those are the only wheels the car will wear ... This car lives in Kelowna and has never been winter driven.

I agree that the StopTech kits look really good quality and it seems that lots of BMW M3 owners have installed them on there vehicles, but they don't carry kits in the size of rotors I would like that Ksport does have for the E36.

Does anyone have any experience with Ksport kits?

Massive Brakes kits aren't big enough for what i want.... I won't lie, part of the reason I want such big breaks is for the look...
