i dont have pictures where i am, but i had a low speed clip with a truck about a year and a half ago. Seemed minor at the time, clipped just at the headlight. walked out the door 4 months later 15k in repairs. That was on a 2001 in 2009-2010.

Brutal man, I totally feel for you! It sucks having to drive around with a banged up car while waiting for the insurance and the body shop to get it fixed.

I had a monster truck decide to back up into my TT in a left hand turn lane a few years ago, repairs were north of $6000...

Do you have RS4 reps on your car? If so I've seen it around.

                  I do yes.

Has anyone ever taken a cash settlement from insurance for an accident? I'm thinking of going that route and fixing it myself. I painted the car myself 2 summers ago, so no issues there...

Yeah Kyle, I've gone that route before. They usually try and give you ~80% of the appraised value of the damage, but you still end up ahead in the long run if you are capable of fixing the damage yourself. If you don't want to have to deal with the headache of sourcing body parts, paint, etc, then I would just get the insurance company to fix it, but if you don't mind getting your hands dirty on the project, then I think you'll be happy taking a settlement.

remember too you dont have to FIX it yourself, you can take the cash, source new parts, and then get a shop to do it for you.
this is kinda handy if you want to do an RS4 front end swap or something like that.

                        Re: That's nice...

I'm assuming my insurance was a little more cooperative considering the accident was 100% the other party's fault...but I am happy to report that I will be getting a cash settlement for the FULL amount of the appraisal minus GST! So, who in town is the best at an RS4 bumper install on a narrow body car?
