well the car has 112 on it so no way in **** it needs a new core

but tonight i put it on ramps.. and then pulled the hose back and let it run and revved it and the hose was spitting coolant out like piss so i put the hose back on and topped up the coolant.. but still no fucking heat!!!!!!!

so what went wrong after timing belt job!???

Thats weird...... I'm assuming you did the thermostat when the timing belt was done?

sounds like a t-stat now. what was your operating temp driving into work? mine failed last winter and it took forever to get to operating temp and than would drop while i was driving.

i know on the 1.8t the t-stat is designed to fail open, so i'm sure its the same for you.

George did a heater core flush/clean on my S4 a few years back for good results. Two years later and at almost 160k and it seems to be blocked again. Any chance the TB job and new water pump stirred loose some sediment that got stuck in the core?

George did this for me a couple of weeks ago (around 140) and it's working great right now. I called the day before and he told me to come first thing in the morning. Did it on the spot in about 15-20 minutes.

The flap that goes wump when you turn the dial in the car to the hot or cold. Listen in silence in the car and turn the knob full cold to full hot and back a couple times. If you arent hearing a little thump, you should check the cables.

all i know is the heat worked like crazy before the timing belt job and now its ****

i think its probably honestly crud in the heater core.. because coolant does come out but i don't think its flowing enough.. i'm calling george in the morning and if i can get in friday then i'm set.. if not i'll try flushing it this weekend until then i get a pissy wife

i read on the blend door.. people say both in/out lines should be hot if the door is acting up.. where my out line is stone cold but the bottom is nice and hot

Happy for you, but that sucks. I've been waiting for two weeks to get mine flushed including that stretch of -20. I'll be all fixed up next week.

yea its terrible driving it right now even -3

it must have been when i got the TB done the new water pump loosened up stuff or something as the heater was awesome before.. i can't honestly remember if the heater was working RIGHT after the TB job but i know a few days after it was no for sure..

i'm assuming when i bled it yesterday the coolant should be flowing pretty hard out of that output line.. but it never got hot. it does pump coolant via the bleeder hole though and i seriously let it spurt out a good litre or more onto my garage floor

oh well i'm guessing the core just has some crap in it.. a lot of guys after searching on AW have this surprisingly
