What kind of HP goals? Does fuel economy matter? Can you turn wrenches yourself? Are you good at sourcing parts? Is the car intended for a daily driver?

Oh, make sure you buy a quattro... it'd be a shame to build up a nice car that lacks traction and torque steers.

Well motor mounts alone require quite abit to replace, its not exactly a 20min job. If you have a shop, skill and tools then maybe. But I believe book time at a shop for engine mounts is around 16 hours.... I cant remember exactly. Also yes, turbos are a big concern and you really should be planning to swap them if you want an S4. I have an S4 and an A4. The A4 is the most reliable car I've owned outside my old MK5. The S4 is a constant bit of repacement parts, (I did get it for next to nothing and is more replacing neglected stuff from the PO) the S4 is alot more money and takes a ton more time.

            Need this car sold.

I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

mounts are easy enough as a DIY.. 200k is prime timing belt change again anyways.. easy to do all at once..

I believe the t-belt was done, as well a clutchmasters fx400 IIRC with less than a couple thousand km's

Re: Looking to buy my first audi

There are write ups on QW/AZ/AW that show you how to replace the motor mounts in under 2 hours... Seeing that its modified, I'd be worried about the abuse that its taken given how upfront he is about the mounts being broken.

yep.. i bet i can do them in 2 hours myself.. on jacks.. i did mine no problem.. its actually very easy if you own tools.. no funky wrenches, etc are needed..

the owner never said how the mounts broke but he said it dented the hood awsell
