Saw this on the news this morning, figured I'd share for those who haven't seen it. Pretty cool technology.

Interesting concept. Pretty cool features, not sure if they are worth the pricetag that goes with it though.

That's pretty dope! But I'd rather put that $1.7k towards a nice wheel or suspension setup...

i dont think i like it, seems kinda overkill. why not just have the times on the nav or something. seems to me like that steering wheel piece makes the whole wheel look cheap and plasticy. i like the caddy one more.

It's an M product, there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to those cars. They are running out of things to modify/over-engineer, so why not? I think it's brilliant IMO.

If I was spending 80k on a m3 I'd add the wheel in. How many are they actually making and will they go on a base m3 or just the higher levels?

Agreed. It's just a fraction of the overall cost. So I guess when spending that much to begin with, the price is justifiable.

I believe you can M trim any 3 series so I'm pretty sure it'll be an option.

Thinking it will be an option on all available M cars. From what I know, you can M trim 1/3/5/6 series bimmers, however certain M options are not available on non-M vehicles.

                        is it cool? maybe
                        is it needed? nope

contrary to popular belief drivers need very little information, especially in high performance cars.
cars nowadays are inundating drivers with information they really dont need, which does nothing but take their attention away from what they should be doing which is driving.
