  • Working on my B5 A4... Can't figure out how to do the TIP

So I have been slaving over this car for three days, and I am getting sick of every single thing going wrong. I am currently trying to get my inlet pipe onto the turbo, it fits great in service position! But... You pop the bumper in and it doesn't fit worth crap. I have cut it up to try and fit it and fenangle it into weird angles, but I just cant get it. Does anyone have any ideas? I would love to have my car running tuesday...

To clarify, this is a 1999.5 B5 A4 1.8T Quattro with a Garrett GT2871R, and a butt load of other mods.

    What TIP are you using?

When I ran a tip (now im running a filter right on the inlet) I ran it down, under the frame rail and a 90 deg bend out towards the passenger side

      OBX.

How do I run a filter clean off? What about all the vac, DV, PCV and MAF? I have a K&N bolt on filter, I could certainly stick it on.

I may go buy some crush pipe from auto value (temp) and cut up my 180 3" silicone pipe and work it out, then if it works order some good stainless mandrel bent pipe.

You dont need stainless. Aluminum will do just fine.

DV is vented to atmosphere, so is the PCV. MAFless tune.

Do they make a MAFless for my car? Im running a C2 Motorsports stage 5.

Where can I find a chunk of straight 2.5" aluminium pipe in Calgary?

You can't do it on our DBC cars :( I'll go down there and get something to cobble it together, they open sunday?

I need to find injector spacers too... Know where I can find those here..? My dumb ass bought 48mm injectors, not 60mm's... And with USCAR 1 connectors, had to order converters from CTS.

I just modified my AEB manifold to work without spacers. No neither are open sunday

Lots of silicone angles. I have to come 90 off the turbo, go straight down then hook under the frame and come up.

I paid $750 for my GT2871R... The plumbing is almost as expensive.

Wow. I don't think I would have spent that much money on an intake setup....

I gotta ask, why not just get a filter, stick it on the end of the turbo and run a MAFless tune? There are a ton of MAFless tunes out there for BT applications and honestly, this seems like one of those times which it should be used. You can bleed the N75 off into the engine bay, you can run a BOV instead of a recirc valve, etc. Would probably cost you less than this inlet setup and would flow better too
