APR 100 Octane Tune?

Hey guys, I recently went Stage 2 with my 2007 Audi A4 and during the process I changed out from: Stock, 91, 93 to 91,93,100.
What is the 100 octane tune? Is this Motor Octane or Research Octane?
Id be curious to try the 100 octane tune maybe once a year or so just because... :P

Gotta pay to play.. racing gas is damn expensive. Fun.. but expensive.

I think Davenport is one of the only suppliers in town by the airport.

I usually buy direct from Jordan@ VP, MS109. I was considering buying a couple of drums, if others are interested in buying a smaller amount I may still consider it this year, I would be willing to fill pails for a reasonable price

What is the burn rate of 100 vs 93 vs 91? I noticed slighter less mpg on the 93 map vs the 91 map, so assuming that the 100 octane will consume even more gas? I mean you can't produce more hp without consuming more petrol. Just curious. Could be a fun tune for a track event

I could be wrong but it should be the exact opposite of what you said. You can run higher timing advance with higher octane fuels because it will not detonate as easily, which technically would improve mileage. (If the car is tuned for it that is) The only time I imagine you would notice the difference in fuel efficiency between 91 and 100 would be when you're beating on the car though, but at that point does it really matter?

I agree, that higher octane is more efficient and burns slower. I think I should re word my initial question to: how would the mileage be effected running 100oct map vs 93 vs 91.
Just from observations the mileage on the 93map is lower than on the 91 map. Get around 9-10L/100km on the 91map running 91oct fuel and 10-11L/100km on the 93map running Petro 94oct. Wonder what happens if one was to run 93oct fuel on a 91oct map =\

you've got to factor in the fact that Petro 94 is generally higher in ethanol which reduces fuel efficiency

Yes, all of the 94's (in AB) have higher ethanol content.

Is becoming a VP dealer as difficult as Amsoil? Hahhahaah.

So would I be looking at buying some VP-100 such as http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp-100-fuel?
Or would it be cheaper / better to get a higher octane one such as 103/109 and mix with shell 91 or petro 94?

Id love to do a track day with my car atleast once. Anyone know of any such events coming up? Something for a first timer but also able to go all out? hah.

Considering there arent any tracks in Calgary... you would have to head to Edmonton.

Castrol has vp109 for sale, or at least they did the last time I was there.

Has anyone tried mixing toluene? I'm very interested in doing so, and will likely experiment when I have the black coupe up and running with Vems.

So if I were to get some VP109, Id have to dilute it down to 100? Try to drive out the gas in my car prior to then as well? haha.

No VP MS109 is r+m/2 105octane. I would just run your tank to as near empty as possible and add in a pail of it, the remnants of your tank will probably dilute the last 3-4 octane numbers down to closer to 100, anything over 100 is good, higher is better
