  • Replacement cone on Roc-Euro intake

As you can see, putting my cone on it got... A bit crumpled.

Now this is probably a stupid question, but I figured I would ask, and John at Roc-Euro won't get back to me. Anyone see harm in using any random cone of the same size as a replacement (K&N, AWE, etc). The direct replacements are fairly expensive and take a while to arrive.

I don't see how a same size replacement cone would differ from their "expensive" replacement. Just make sure you get a quality dry filter.

The Roc-Euro is an oiled filter.

s4 doesn't have a maf so no need to worry about contamination but just depends if you want to oil or not and where you drive. An oiled filter is going to let more contaminants in vs dry

Also a stupid question; but will what I replace it with have any impact on sound/performance? More supercharger whine would be... Cool.

I also think it's time to pull the trigger on a tune... Though I'm trying to hold off until my 8000km service.

                Probably no difference in sound.

                Get an AEM.

I would hold on for awhile on the tune. There are questions regarding the tunes for 2014s right now.

Also, you should be able to get a replacement locally from autovalue or partsource if I remember correctly. its worth a quick stop in to ask the guys behind the counter.

Every time I've taken the Volvo in they always hook up to it to check for codes and any updates needed .. And that's a Volvo SUV :/

I've been in another members. I'd love to get a tune, just after My car is done it's 8k break in. I've already figured out how to avoid TD1.

ITG filters are worth a look too. Not sure if they make one to fit your application though.

Hey Kyle the issues isnt TD1 for us with 2014's ( well it is but if your not concerned about it it isn't ) it's actually got something to do with our ECU's and our different gearing on our DSGs...the tuners are having issues with 14's . Hold off until there's solid evidence that all the issues are worked out, there's two guys I know with APR that have paid the cash to go to stage two and are basically still running stock!
