  • brake job question.

I've ran into some issues with the brake job I'm doing. Ordered stoptech lines and there the correct PN according to centric catalog.

Anyway the lines are wrong. But I've made them work kinda. The own lines have a female end that the hard line connects to and a male end that screws into the caliper.

The SS lines are both female ends . I bought some adapters from a hydraulic company to make the fit but I was unable to use the oem mounting point under the car.

Will this be ok ? You can see the hole above the lines where their suppose to feed through but they won't reach.

        Re: brake job question.

Some is brake fluid but more is brake clean . However the car did leak brake fluid over night as the line did not seal. I've since replaced the line with a.custom line that is not leaking and fits properly.

Make sure you clean EVERYTHING the brake fluid touched. It will strip the paint off everything it touches if you leave it on for a while (aka, overnight). A friend of mine had a new Brembo brake setup and brake fluid leaked on the calipers overnight and it stripped the paint off them

I did the same thing. No zip ties and it seems to just stay put. I guess it's possible to catch them on something but like was said, use a zip tie if worried.

                Pic of line installed

Lines alone. Right ones are local made. Left is stop tech line.

View of dvr side. It's not as close to the tie rod as it looks.

Cool! Same coating I got, except the silver fittings where I got red.

Any noticeable improvement in brake feel?

What fluid did you go with? ATE Blue or Motul 5.1?

Went with ate amber and I've driven the car enough to notice pedal feel. Car died over night cause buddy left my dome light on during the deck install.

Battery must be getting old... I accidentally left mine on overnight when it was -20˚ and got away with it (thankfully).

If you get into a pinch I have a spare.

Boasted car yesterday. Drove for about 5 mins and then parked it. She fired up this morning even with sitting outside overnight. I'm good to go. Bedding the brakes went good to. Still might need to do one more bleed but car does stop better now.
