You have to keep in mind that the import laws a very very different in the US though, so someone will pay that premium for it. We're lucky to be able to import cars once they hit 15 years old without too much hassle, but in the States they have to be 25 years old, and you have to go through a fairly crazy process in order to make them legal there from what I've read. Every B5 RS4 I've seen listed in Canada has been somewhere around the $50k mark, but I suspect that's only because there are very few here right now. Supposedly "the first B5 RS4 imported to Canada" is in Montreal for $57k, but I swear I've seen others up for sale.

Edit: Here are a few others in the States. The first one sold nearly 5 years ago for ~$49k, but was up for sale again earlier this year for $75k.

I think the last B5 RS4 that was imported into Colorado cost 35k US to federalize. Jaques Villeneuve and rare color may ad a bit to the value but 77k US is a dream price. Here in Canada we can bring in clean versions for 20-30K Canuck bucks delivered. That one is about 4 times to much.

Most definitely the price is absurd for a 14YO car, but it really is something special. Now let some more years go by then all of a sudden C6 RS6 Avant would be a killer car to own. V10TT Dream Wonder how much that would be by then??

RS6 would be pretty rad... simple chip and hello 750hp. But what are the long term reports on reliability? I can't imagine that would be particularly fun to DIY, nor cheap to send to your local spanner monkey.

OTOH, it's really just two 20vt inline-5 motors so it can't be particularly unreliable

Dustin, it would be the 4.2TT RS6 that are available for import, the V10's wont be until 2022 or 2023

Since i have been following the auctions for the last 2 years, in anticipation of them being importable, that is what low KM very clean versions have been going for. Much lower if for high KM cars. Only a few years before the B7 RS4 Avants are importable.

I guess i should clarify Just about anything is importable at any year it is just that you can't drive it till it is in that 15 year window. I imagine the paper work would be a little more tricky.

Dream import for me would be High Mile B7 RS4 Avant and for engine swap. Maybe a 3.4-3.6 turbo VR6 with 1000hp?
