  • BMW 2002 Hommage Concept

If you weren’t a fan of the BMW 2002 Hommage concept when it first debuted at Villa d'Este back in May, have we got some good news. For Pebble Beach, BMW went back to the paint shop and cooked up a classic livery race fans should be swooning over.

A beautiful burnt orange and black setup paired with new 20-inch gold alloys transform this polarizing concept into something a bit more beautiful. The livery, of course, heralds back to the iconic Jägermeister liveries found on racing cars like the M1, 3.0CSL, and E30 M3.

“With its iconic orange/black paintwork,” says BMW, “the car has a color scheme and livery synonymous in the minds of many motorsport fans with the triumphs of the 1970s."

As for the concept as a whole, it celebrates BMW’s 100th anniversary, and honors the original BMW 2002 Turbo from 1973 and the introduction of turbo technology in motorsports as a whole. Using a number of radical design cues - including the more squared ’shark-nose’ front end and flared rear fenders - the concept lovingly pairs modern design with BMW heritage.

It will be on display for all to see at the Pebble Beach Conccours d’Elegance on Sunday, August 21st.
