Well we have not even gotten Golf Vs yet here but they are already showing pics of what could be the next next generation Golf, or maybe just a mid production refresh?????

Wow, could be a short life for the Mk5 in NA then?
I think it looks ok, I like the rear taillights better. The grill is a little funky. And the rounded front hood really grew on me on the MK5, strange they appear to be going back to a flat profile (but I guess it's hard to tell from the angles)
Mixing an A3 with a GTI. If the MKV model only lasted 2 years in NA, I would be ticked. However, they have been chatting about how expensive the MKV is to produce, and a new model may be VW's answer to that.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....
I love the look. Very progressive. VW has been a step behind for years in the design department and this is what we should have right away as it's as modern as what the other manufacturers are doing now. (I'm thinking Civic, Acura, Nissan, et al.)
Looks like VW and AUDI is heading to the Honda platform where model changes come alot more frequently. Personally that's not something I'm in favour of......

Well, if you think about it, it's the way it's going thanks to the Lease payment. In 3 to 4 years when peoples leases are up, they are looking for something different. If they are still selling the same platform in 4 years time when you want to get something fresh, you are forced to look elsewhere. I'm not crazy about it either, but I also think the mk4 (and B5 passat for that matter) were around WAY too long. Adding the chrome to the Jetta in 04 was not nearly enough of a "refresh".
The car has been on sale in Europe since 2003, and it just went on sale this February in the U.S., with the introduction of the GTI. This has caused some people to doubt these reports. But the rumors are true, according to AutoWeek, and a new Golf is coming by 2008. The report indicates that VW boss Wolfgang Bernhard has pushed to have the new Golf released soon, because the current model is too expensive to produce, and inferior to the forthcoming model. The sixth-generation Golf will gain multilink rear suspension and a new body. As previously reported, the sixth-generation Golf lineup is expected to include an SUV, based on the Volkswagen Concept A.
