That is by far the best way to do it! Just don't end up testing for too long or the glue with re-melt.

I used the hot glue to hold them in place while testing the beam pattern. Then when I had it right I drilled holes and used bolts for proper mounting, peeled the hot glue off when I was done.

    DON'T JUST USE HOT GLUE!

You have to use high heat JB weld if you want to do it like that, plus i would recommend bolts as well if your shroud can cover them up.

I've read about using the PVC fitting then putting the projector through that but yours seems much easier.

I'm parked on top of a slight hill there. I extensively tested the height lol.

you're from sundre and you don't drive a lifted truck?! thank god haha. Those lights look great man, very nice cut-off, might want to point them a little lower so you don't blind the crap out of people.

Saw Cam's car today in the snow and ice (with Summers) haha. Car is looking good! I guess I should finish my 2 year retro fit project as well!

Do you think a pure straight cutoff is really needed? I have looked at mk5 HID housings and they all the the small stepped cutoff (not the normal _/ cutoff). The housings I have the small step, I took one apart and files one of the cutoffs down (they switch from R to L drive). I would rather not have to take the other apart if not really needed.

lol thanks Sean. I'm looking forward to seeing the mini h1 projectors in action too. How they compare will be pretty neat to see. George is ordering his kit right away so hopefully we'll get working on them soon.

Looks like a nice straight cutoff Cam with very good aiming, very impressed

Yeah as for the bulbs I have an extra set of 4300K bulbs that can handle all the way up to 55W ballasts that I'm selling if anybody is interested.

Also looks like we might have 2 or 3 GTI/Golf retrofits happening here this spring/summer. I'm excited to see how everything turns out

They are the morimotos manufactured for and sold by the retrofit source. Also morimoto bulbs, 5000k. Sean and I had a discussion about the color temps as each brand is a little different regardless of what they say. If I went with proper name brand ds2 bulbs I would have gotten the 4300k. But for aftermarket I went 5000k.
