Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
i feel like it started with a general concern, suggesting 8s may not be wide enough to handle it. Dom instantly said he hasnt had an issue then anything after that was just poopy.
Lets assume positive intent on the original "are you sure 8s are wide enough?" post, maybe they thought he wasnt used to a car this powerful and genuinely wanted to throw some experience and concern at him. Boom, his car, his choices, everyone KNOWS its a beauty so lets all just party forever.I take pictures for money.

Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
After having been in the car and having driven the car, I personally would have put something wider on it.
That was where my concern came from. Looks great, but personally, I would have done 9's, just sayin.
EDIT: I haven't used/experienced those tires so I was just going off previous.Last edited by BaggedGLI; 04-23-2013, 04:11 PM.

Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
and a valid concern it was! I 100% agree, i would have done at LEAST a 9 all around. if the driver is comfortable and confident, then its allllllllll goodOriginally posted by BaggedGLI View PostAfter having been in the car and having driven the car, I personally would have put something wider on it.

Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
+1... Couldn't have said it any better.Originally posted by funkin View PostOooook, so this is getting a little bit out of hand, don't you guys think? No where has Dom said that he doesn't drive it like its been built to be driven... It begs to be driven hard, but, if you don't respect the power it has and how much **** it can get you in then you ARE NOT the person to have a car like this. As for the rest of what Dom has done, he's changed the car and made it his. 8" wheels with the proper tires will be fine; Cam runs 8" CH's as his summers, I ran 8.5's with 215's on them and neither of us had issues with traction.
You all might not be the biggest fans but at the end of the day the car is still gorgeous and it is HIS. So unless there is something constructive to come from what you have to say then maybe everyone should just lay off. Christ, even Sean was more constructive than 90% of you, thats saying something.

Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
what i'm not understanding is, why is there so much concern over rim width when it is tire width that should be discussed. having an 8 inch versus a 9 inch wide rim makes no difference when you're running, for example, a 215 cross section tire on either...

That was also brand new winter rubber you were driving on, not a sticky summer tire that will put down some power.Originally posted by BaggedGLI View PostAfter having been in the car and having driven the car, I personally would have put something wider on it.

This. When I had the 215's it would spin but not a lot. The car is AWD, lets not forget that...Originally posted by jabu87 View Postwhat i'm not understanding is, why is there so much concern over rim width when it is tire width that should be discussed. having an 8 inch versus a 9 inch wide rim makes no difference when you're running, for example, a 215 cross section tire on either...TJ

I have no doubt the 215's are adequate for the car. i just don't know when there is so much talk about rim widths and not the real deciding factor which is the tire size.Originally posted by funkin View PostThis. Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
So he is running 225/235's on 8's? Just saying, wheel seems a little narrow, 215 on an 8" is no stretch, personally, I stretch some, wide wheels etc. It was my opinion saying that the wheel was possibly a little narrow. No one said any tire size. If someone chimed in (Dom) and said they are 245's, well then cool, but no tire size has been mentioned.

215/40/18. Is there a need for a wider wheel with a serious stretch ?Last edited by PolishPrince; 04-23-2013, 05:09 PM.***SOLD***-2008 C63 AMG - Tuned(540hp, 495trq), secondary cat delete, highflow filters. Lowered on H&R springs, Verde wheels, carbon goods around

I asked for tire size and brand specifically and he told me to refer to the previous page, in which there was still no tire size :(Originally posted by BaggedGLI View PostSo he is running 225/235's on 8's? Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
members were commenting on wider wheels to increase grip because of the power output of the car, not for better looks... but wider wheels dont make grip better. larger contact patch from wider tires does.Originally posted by BaggedGLI View PostSo he is running 225/235's on 8's? Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
I believe the comments were stated in such a way that an 8" with standard size tire (225/235) might not be able to hold the traction, and a wider wheel (with wider tire that could be incorporated from a larger width wheel) would be suggested so he can run wider tires (245)Originally posted by jabu87 View Postmembers were commenting on wider wheels to increase grip because of the power output of the car, not for better looks... but wider wheels dont make grip better. larger contact patch from wider tires does.

Re: heheheee yeeaaahh r32
As TJ said when he had 215's they spun but not much. I have a different brand of tire And it spins next to nothing. And once again lets not forget the car is AWD.Originally posted by funkin View PostWhen I had the 215's it would spin but not a lot.
