Thanks guys, does anyone know where in Calgary have a wall and 30ft flat ground to aim my headlights...... Like seriously........Such as an underground parkade.
Looks great jerry. I think that headlights are my facorite mod on mkiv's, especially jetta's.
Thanks! They're probably one of my favorites too, I loved them since the Bora R came out in 05. When I got my car I didn't know there were replicas so the OEM pricing held me back until you posted the part out thread lol.

Did you rewire your HID's to stay on with your high beams?
Not sure what you mean but when I pull the lever(to flash the high beams) the low beams stay on, but when I push the lever(to stay on high beam) the low beams go out.

The high beams are great for distance, but do not have a very wide spread. When these lights were installed from the factory, they were wired like a Golf where both lights stay on together.
Played with unisettings with my buddy for two hours today, we mainly foucused on the ignition timing angle settings.
I already have a unitronic stage 1+ tune so I know the setting will work on my ecu if I don't pull too much timing, not sure if this will work on a stock ecu.
I first logged the timing values at 2000rpm at idle, the timing was 33.8BTDC.
Then I added 1.5 degrees of timing(which means advancing 1.5 degrees. We logged values after 5min of normal driving, the timing is 35.3BTDC which is spot on, but my buddy and I didn't feel much difference. So we increased to 3.75degrees and we repeated the logging procedure, the timing went to 37.5BTDC, I didn't feel much difference but my buddy said the car pulled harder. Then we added another 1.5 degrees of timing via unisettings with a total of +5.25 degrees, and wow the car pulled much harder, we are talking much harder even with a very hot engine after 30min of hard testing. I was able to reach 39.1BTDC with 94 octane, we tried to dial more timing but it wouldn't fo higher that 39.3BTDC so we dialed it back to +5.25 and called it a day. I wouldn't recommond you pulling this much timing if you are only running 91, you might be able to add 2-3 degrees before the ecu starts dialing it back.

That's pretty good advancement for a N/a car. Happen to have the logs? Timing pull versus rpm?
I only logged the timing in neutral, I did from 1600-3200rpm with increments of 200rpm, didn't go any higher because I didn't want to blow my car up.. However when I hold the rev steady, the timing is always 39.1BTDC, it doesn't matter if I'm at 1600 or 3200. Before the advancement, the logged values were all 33.8BTDC at a steady rev.

To be most accurate you should be logging under load, hense why dyno tuning is done in gear.
I'd do a third gear from 2000 rpm to what's you're redline 7k? Wot the whole time

KK, I'll try that some time next week if I'm going on the highway.
