I feel ya man. Our MK2 in China just got crushed a few weeks ago due to 15-year-old car-must-be-totaled law. You could give the B7 3.2FSi quattros a try, they aren't VRs but they do have Torsen diffs instead of haldex.

Oh man serious? That's brutal. The poor mk2 :( the B7's are nice and Torsen would be awesome. Avants are also hard to find now it seems.

So for everyone here. Are eastern cars actually that bad for rust? Even if someone is anal about keeping it clean? Curious more than anything. Have people had personal experiences. Or just heard stories.

I moved here from S.Ontario with my old A6.

If the paint is cracked or chipped anywhere and driven in the winter, the salt will seep in there and start destroying everything in it's path.

If the guy had it detailed...including a full wax pre and post winter, then I'd say ok, as long as everything checks out to your liking. This is all strictly speaking regarding the body. The undercarriage is a whole other story. Rust welded bolts, rough chasis components, seals and hoses making contact with the elements will all suffer, especially the plastic bits, but being a 2009, you may be able to dodge a bullet at 58k.

No cracks or chips, front end is 3m'd sounds like he is very meticulous with the car. Will get more info. He was in a very minor fender bender as well... well nothing even got bent, more so scuffed.





I'd have to get different seats, the regular ones are terrible... and get rid of those orange side reflectors in the headlights too lol... mmm ecodes.

If everything checks out and I get enough pictures and info to feel comfortable its not gonna rust apart on me I might have to go for it. Time shall tell. Its nice neither of us are in a rush so gives me time to be very thorough.

If you're looking at cars from the east make sure they are undercoated at least.

Not my interior, the guy did an amazing job. That car is awesome.



But keep up man!! I won't be buying it back. Unless it was uber cheap. Then I have a few friends interested in it.
