I have decided to go GTRS anyways. Originally it was going to be too expensive but I found the turbo for $1500 on 034's website so going to start the build right away!
That may be the case at a more favourable DA. My experience has been that you should expect about 20% lower output in Calgary. Moving to a precision or comp turbo setup also affords more room for big power, unfortunately with power on a 1.8t comes big lag

I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

I'll probably end up picking your brain a bit about turbo set-ups. 12v VRs are too slow to NOT boost..

I'm no pro, but i'll try my best to answer questions. I bought it already turbo, and just enjoyed driving it around.

Oh I thought you did it!
Ah well there's lots of room in the rear of the engine bay to play with I'm sure an install wouldn't be all that difficult!

Yeah it's fine. I changed the downpipe from 2.5'' to 3'' this summer and there was plenty of room. And VRT is so much fun, but an LSD is a must. I still slip traction in 2nd gear with an LSD, with brand new Nitto's.

My MK3 has been turbo for about 10 years, the VR6 engine is an absolute beast and accepts boost with ease.
