  • MK7 Golf R

So we finally have our first allocation for the new Golf R. Pricing starts at $39995 plus freight and PDI for the 6 speed manual. Only option is a tech package for $2015 which has the 8" screen, lane assist, adaptive cruise etc.
Figured I'd place an order for myself. Went with a Reflex silver with tech. Car won't be here until probably late September or October. Gives me 7 months to decide if I actually want to part with the RS4.

Sigh yeah, mostly FWD. I wanted an RS4, but had to resign myself to a Golf R, due to a work stipulation that my car has to be 7 years of age or newer. (*and 4 doors)

Yeah its 4Motion. Don't get me wrong. I'm still over the moon happy with my RS4 however its approaching 100K and might think it would be still worth something within the next few months.
I just ordered the Golf R to have the option.

Why do you even want a squished Beetle anyways? It has the engine from a van.

                      Re: MK7 Golf R

I have a solution for you Derek!

Keep the RS4 and drive the new R for the winter while you send the RS4 off to have supercharger installed over the winter. Sell the R to someone on here for near or more than you paid for it in the spring. That will give you time to realize that the R is not a RS4 and by that time your stupidly fast, best sounding, best looking, I finally have a car that scares the crap out of me, will be ready.

Ha Ha!! You guys all know me too well. I also predict I will be staring at my flared fendered beast for a long time but thought it couldn't hurt to order a golf. Who knows!

Moral of the story: The R isn't "Fat Ass" enough for Derek.

If you do part with the rs4, I may need you to part with some parts that I can impart on my rs4.

Congrats on the order, I think it will be a tough choice but I guess see what happens in the mean time. I like the Reflex Silver too, a colour that has kind of been forgotten over the last couple generations, but still looks nice, just wish they had Pretoria wheels available.

Time to see what my Dad will order I guess...
