Re: S4 Avant (B7) Jacktown
RS4 conversion centre and fog grilles. The centre grille is made from 3 parts - the mesh from an RS6 grille and an outer frame which is 2/3's a brand new S-Line frame and 1/3'rd my original frame. Completed with brand new badging from ECS and a swanky silver paint job to best match the brushed aluminum trim around the windows on on the roof rails.
I would not have had the patience to pull this off - Thanks to Bronco at CTL

Re: S4 Avant (B7) Jacktown
Finally got the car back from paint this morning. I forgot how great this thing drives - definitely a big improvement over the Malibu courtesy car I've been driving for 4 weeks!
It's going to need a good polish but here is a quick snap of the shaved side-markers.

Sonax and let it soak. I have that on my winter wheels that I have to clean very soon.
Or hot water pressure wash.

ok - Hoping I can get some advice from any of you who have experience cleaning baked on dirt and grease. This is a picture of one of the barrels after over an hour of scrubbing. You can see the kind of results I'm getting towards the right hand side of the picture. Previously, it all looked worse than the left hand side of the wheel shown in the pic. I've tried soap and water before I moved on to CLR metal cleaner. Then I tried the CLR cleaner in combination with a hand polisher. Finally, when I still wasn't getting the results I wanted, I tried a spray bottle of Simonz wheel cleaner - the stuff that sprays on yellow and turns red after a couple of minutes (and smells like a dog sh1t and piss birthday cake)
I've done some searches to try and find products that get good results and saw this video:
Couple of thoughts. First - That music... Second - Seems like it work but I can't seem to find it available locally. In any case, before I throw any more money at cleaning products I'd love to hear some of your recommendations.Last edited by jacktown; 04-01-2016, 09:32 AM.
