    Re: A Gambler’s Thread – e30mclow’s Replacement S4

Got the mph rs4 cluster in and coded this morning, as well as adjusted the mileage. Love it.

Also pricked around with the cross connector on top of the gear box. Supposedly a box out job, but doable if you're willing to sacrafice all skin on your knuckles and be patient.

Dropped in a spare I had, which will do until I pull the engine and box to swap the turbos.

Next up is to pull the engine and box in March and get her to stage 3. I miss the booooost.
I'll get the rs4 bumper on at that time also.

Then....the usual....start to miss BMWs and make a change lol

          Re: A Gambler’s Thread – e30mclow’s Replacement S4

There are a lot of things up in the air right now, but I'm hoping to pull off a juggling act in the next few weeks.

The black car is so clean that I feel bad messing with it too much, so I've been on the look out for another B5 to have fun with. I'm afraid that when I pull the engine on the black one it'll lead to chasing all sorts of little issues which just don't exist right now. That, and I'm well beyond the threshold of ever recouping what I've put into it, given I paid so much for it to start with.

I'm hoping I've found the right car in Minnesota, which is an Imola with 80k miles and 100% stock.
The plan would be to restore the black one to how it was when I first got it, then go Imola round 2 on the other car with.

The idea would be to end up with a garage queen Stage 2 and a Stage 3 car that I won't mind breaking down from time to time. B5 choices.

          Fingers crossed.

Always a good idea to have a spare B5 S4 around for parts....

            Good luck buddy!

Now with some meaty tires squeezed up in there. Looking back, these 255s would have fit nicely on my old 18x10j Rotiforms.

She's all dirty, as we're flooded in here at the moment.
